Kansas OZ 2.0 Selection Process

The Kansas Department of Commerce's Quality Places Division leads Kansas's OZ 2.0 selection process.
Process:
- Spring 2026: Commerce announced a Community Opportunity Zone Application. Workshops planned statewide to help communities prepare nominations.
- June 1, 2026: Nomination proposals due from cities, counties, tribal governments, and economic development organizations.
- Summer 2026: Commerce reviews submissions and recommends tracts to Governor Laura Kelly.
- By September 29, 2026: Governor Kelly submits final nominations to Treasury.
